CREATIVE.
SPIRITUAL.
DESIGN
OBSESSED.
I grew up in a south suburb of Chicago and tapped into my creativity at a young age. I would paint, design book reports in Print Shop, shoot pictures with my Kodak camera and write stories. I was influenced by the energy of brands. I plastered editorials and ads all over my room. They were inspiring. And... I believed anything the Noxema girl had to say.
In college, I studied journalism and created layouts for my stories. I was fascinated with storytelling through design. I took a fine arts photography class that was the turning point for my style and vision. I was mesmerized by Henri Cartier-Bresson. He was an iconic French photographer with the philosophy of capturing subjects “being caught in a moment.” This has been a critical filter throughout my career.
I’ve worked both agency and in-house in New York, Columbus and Chicago. I’ve had incredible opportunities to build brands, develop products, create advertising, design packaging and tell stories with true stopping power.
The most fulfilling moments have been about the people I’ve met along the way. Being able to work with partners from all over the world and listening to different perspectives keeps the work fresh. I have a teaching style and enjoy sharing my knowledge through leadership and connection.
I’ve had small teams and large teams, and I have a home team with my husband and two very spirited girls. I love to watch them develop their own creativity. When I’m not in create or care mode, I’m on my yoga mat refueling for the next adventure.
